Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has provided an update on the team’s injury status ahead of their upcoming Premier League match against Everton on Sunday, December 22, 2024.
Injury Updates:
Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile are both sidelined due to long-term injuries. Maresca confirmed that they will remain unavailable for an extended period.
Joao Felix and Noni Madueke are fit and available for selection. Felix returned to action as a second-half substitute in Chelsea's recent UEFA Conference League match against Shamrock Rovers, while Madueke's substitution at halftime was pre-planned.
Roméo Lavia is recovering from a hamstring issue. Maesca stated that Lavia will "struggle to play on Sunday," indicating he may not be fit for the upcoming match.
Reece James is also recovering from a hamstring injury. Although he has begun partaking in training sessions, Maresca emphasized that James' return to match action is not imminent, stating, "That doesn't mean that he's going to be with us on Sunday or next Sunday."
