Chelsea Manager Enzo Maresca confirmed that James will participate in part of the upcoming session, marking a gradual return to full fitness. "We’ll now build his condition, and then he will be ready to play; that doesn't mean it will be this Sunday," Maresca stated.

James suffered a hamstring injury in November 2024, which has sidelined him for several weeks. Prior to this setback, he had made a promising return to the starting lineup during Chelsea's match against Liverpool on October 20, 2024. However, he was only able to play in four games before experiencing this new injury.

Chelsea is set to face Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM GMT. While James is making progress, his participation in the upcoming match remains uncertain. The team will continue to monitor his recovery and provide updates as necessary.
