In a detailed statement released on his social media platforms on Monday, December 23, Sodiq addressed inconsistencies in his previous accounts of his final interaction with Mohbad. He clarified that he last saw the artist alive between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., correcting an earlier statement in which he mentioned 9:00 p.m. Sodiq attributed this discrepancy to the emotional distress and anxiety he experienced following Mohbad's unexpected passing.
Sodiq also disclosed that he faced wrongful accusations of being present at Mohbad's residence on the day of the singer's death, leading to his detention at a police station. He explained that this ordeal adversely affected his mental state, resulting in the earlier inconsistency in his statements.
He stated, "I would like to clarify that the last time I saw him alive was between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. The timing I previously provided was inaccurate due to the emotional trauma I endured following Mohbad's unexpected passing."
Sodiq apologized for any confusion caused by his earlier statements and reaffirmed that he departed from Mohbad's residence between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on September 11, 2023, consistent with his testimony at the coroner's inquest.
He emphasized, "I never intended to deceive or conceal information about when I last saw Mohbad. I apologize for any misinformation. The last time I saw Mohbad alive was between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. I left his house between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2023, which aligns with my testimony at the coroner's inquest."
Additionally, Sodiq denied engaging in discussions about the circumstances leading to Mohbad's death with any social media influencers while in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, except for interactions with an individual named Westo and his assistant. He refuted claims of existing audio recordings and text messages pertaining to such conversations.
Reiterating his call for justice, Sodiq expressed, "Mohbad's untimely passing remains painful, and I am still recovering from the trauma. I pray that Mohbad receives the justice he deserves, and I urge that his perpetrators be brought to justice."
