Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that midfielder Roméo Lavia will be unavailable for the upcoming Premier League match against Fulham on Thursday. 
Lavia, who has been sidelined due to a thigh injury sustained earlier this month, is making progress in his recovery but remains unfit for selection.
"Roméo is still recovering. He's much, much better," Maresca stated. "He's already working on the pitch but unfortunately he's not ready for Fulham."
Lavia's absence adds to Chelsea's injury concerns, with defenders Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile also sidelined with long-term injuries. Additionally, Mykhailo Mudryk is suspended following an adverse analytical finding in an anti-doping test, which he has contested.
Chelsea currently sits second in the Premier League standings with 35 points, four points behind leaders Liverpool. The upcoming West London derby against Fulham presents an opportunity for the Blues to close the gap at the top of the table.
