Tijani Babangida, the former Nigerian international footballer, is facing a devastating personal tragedy following a tragic car crash along the Zaria-Kaduna road. 
The accident, which occurred in early May 2024, claimed the life of his younger brother, Ibrahim, and left his one-year-old son, Fadil, critically injured. Despite efforts to save him, Fadil tragically passed away in the hospital. Babangida's wife, Maryam, also suffered severe facial injuries, including the loss of one eye, while their maid sustained a leg fracture.
Babangida himself was hospitalized with injuries, including a damaged knee, and has since undergone surgery. Describing the emotional toll, Babangida acknowledged, "The worries I've gone through will never leave me," referring to the shock and distress caused by the events. He further revealed that Maryam, in her shock, struggled with memory loss and could not recall the names of their son or the accident itself.
