Francis Duru Mourns Late Son Ifeanyi on His Posthumous 16th Birthday

Nollywood actor Francis Duru recently marked the posthumous birthday of his son, Ifeanyi, who would have turned 16 on December 4, 2024.

The actor shared an emotional tribute on Instagram, reflecting on the profound loss his family has experienced since Ifeanyi’s death in August 2024 at the age of 15.

In his heartfelt message, Duru expressed the depth of his grief, recounting the joy and anticipation Ifeanyi felt for this milestone birthday, which was tragically cut short. He wrote, “Nna, today you were going to be 16, but the cold hands of death snatched you from us... It has not been easy because you left a very big hole in our hearts... non can ever or will ever replace you... it hurts but God knows why.”

Duru’s post also reflected on the family's emotional journey since Ifeanyi's passing, mentioning the void left by his son and the memories that continue to comfort them. He added, “We miss you, your warm smiles, words of affirmation... Mummy weeps each day while I do mine in the dark... Frances, Soso, all of us... We still love you and still feel you are around.”

The tribute concluded with a prayer for his son's eternal rest and a declaration of the family's enduring love: “Happy posthumous birthday my champ... continuously rest in the bosom of the Lord.”
