Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka will be sidelined for over two months following surgery on a hamstring injury sustained during the 5-1 victory against Crystal Palace on December 21, 2024.

In light of Saka's absence, Arteta addressed the possibility of acquiring new players in the January transfer window: "We will see. Hopefully, we won’t have any more injuries."

Arteta also provided an update on Raheem Sterling, who is recovering from a knee injury: "We’ll have Raheem Sterling probably less time than we expected, so that’s good news."

In addition to Saka and Sterling, Arsenal is managing several other injuries.

Declan Rice is dealing with a knock injury, while Jurriën Timber, Thomas Partey, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Riccardo Calafiori, and Gabriel Magalhães are all listed as doubtful due to various physical discomforts.

Despite these challenges, Arsenal secured a 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town on December 27, 2024, at the Emirates Stadium.

Kai Havertz scored the decisive goal in the 23rd minute, elevating the Gunners to second place in the Premier League, six points behind leaders Liverpool.

The team demonstrated resilience amid their injury concerns, maintaining their pursuit of the league title.

Arsenal faces a demanding schedule with ten matches before the end of January, including key Premier League fixtures and crucial Champions League group stage games.
