In an official statement, the club expressed its full support for the FA’s testing program, noting, "Both the Club and Mykhailo fully support the FA’s testing programme and all our players, including Mykhailo, are regularly tested." The statement also highlighted Mudryk’s stance, stating, "Mykhailo has confirmed categorically that he has never knowingly used any banned substances."

The club clarified that both Mudryk and Chelsea are cooperating with the authorities to determine the cause of the adverse finding. "Both Mykhailo and The Club will now work with the relevant authorities to establish what has caused the adverse finding," the statement read.

Mudryk, who joined Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023, has consistently been a vital player for the team and the Ukraine national squad. His most recent appearance for Chelsea was on November 28, 2024, and he has not featured since December 1 due to illness.

The substance involved has not been disclosed, and Mudryk is awaiting the results of the 'B-sample' test. As of now, he remains provisionally suspended while the investigation continues.
