Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma sustained a serious facial injury during the Ligue 1 match against AS Monaco on December 18, 2024. 
The incident occurred when Monaco defender Wilfried Singo inadvertently stepped on Donnarumma's face with his studs while both contested a ball inside PSG's penalty area.
Following on-field medical attention, Donnarumma was substituted in the 20th minute, with Matvey Safonov coming on as his replacement.
At the time of the substitution, PSG was leading 1-0, courtesy of a goal by Désiré Doué in the 23rd minute.
