In a recent interview, Timi recounted how, during their dating phase, Busola was sometimes embarrassed when he picked her up in the branded Kia Picanto he had won on Nigerian Idol.

The story sparked debates online, with one X user, who identified as single, criticizing the narrative. The user commented: “‘I suffer for this girl hand’ is not a flex. Why do Nigerian men paint love as suffering? Who has bewitched you people? Everything about this story is unrequited love. Man was working so hard to get her to be with him even though she was embarrassed by him. What is funny about the story?"

In response, Timi emphasized the strength of his marriage and the joy they now derive from those memories. He wrote: "I am married to the same woman, and we have been together for almost 15 years. Do and tell your own love story as you will. She made me level. We talk about those times and laugh really hard. I even gist my kids about it. Enjoy your day."

Timi and Busola Dakolo have been married since 2012, and their union is blessed with three children: Alexander, Hallel, and Zoe. The couple frequently shares snapshots of their family life, celebrating milestones and cherishing the journey they've built together.

Reflecting on their relationship, Timi once humorously wrote: "Let’s just be friends has given birth to three children for me... From ‘go out, I want to change’ to ‘please help me cream my back please.’” Their story is a testament to love, growth, and the power of shared experiences.
