LaLiga has removed Dani Olmo's player profile from its official website following the expiration of his temporary registration on December 31, 2024.

FC Barcelona had secured Olmo's return from RB Leipzig in August 2024 for a reported fee of €60 million, granting him a temporary registration valid until the end of the year.

The club was expected to comply with LaLiga's financial regulations to secure a permanent registration for Olmo by the December 31 deadline. However, Barcelona failed to meet these financial requirements, resulting in LaLiga's refusal to approve the registration.

In response, Barcelona has requested a new license for Olmo from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). However, the RFEF has indicated that it cannot process any license without prior approval from LaLiga, leaving Olmo's status unresolved.

This situation has significant implications for both the player and the club. Olmo's contract reportedly includes a clause allowing him to become a free agent if not registered by January 1, 2025, attracting interest from several top European clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City, and Arsenal.

Barcelona's financial challenges continue to impede their ability to comply with LaLiga's economic control measures, affecting player registrations and overall squad management. The club's next steps in addressing Olmo's situation remain to be seen.
