Bayern Munich endured a 3-0 defeat to Feyenoord in their Champions League match on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at De Kuip Stadium in Rotterdam.
Feyenoord's striker, Santiago Giménez, was instrumental in the victory, netting two goals in the first half. He opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a precise shot past Bayern's goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer. Giménez doubled the lead deep into first-half stoppage time by converting a penalty after a foul by Bayern's Raphaël Guerreiro. Substitute Ayase Ueda sealed the win with a third goal in the 89th minute.

Despite Bayern Munich's dominance in possession and their 32 attempts on goal, they were unable to find the back of the net. Feyenoord's goalkeeper, Justin Bijlow, delivered an outstanding performance, making several crucial saves to maintain a clean sheet.

This loss marks Bayern's third defeat in seven Champions League matches this season, dropping them to 15th place with 12 points. Feyenoord's victory propels them to 11th place with 13 points, enhancing their prospects of finishing in the top eight and securing a spot in the Round of 16.

Bayern Munich's head coach, Vincent Kompany, expressed his disappointment, stating, "We have to be honest. I think Feyenoord deserved it... Maybe individually and collectively it wasn’t enough today."

Looking ahead, Bayern Munich will aim to rebound in their upcoming match against Slovan Bratislava, while Feyenoord is set to face Lille.
