Gerard Martín Signs Long-Term Contract Extension with Barcelona Until 2028

FC Barcelona has officially announced the renewal of young defender Gerard Martín's contract, extending his commitment to the club until June 30, 2028. 

The contract extension was formalized on Thursday at midday, with the presence of club president Joan Laporta, director responsible for youth football Joan Soler, sporting director Anderson Luis de Souza (Deco), and director for youth football José Ramon Alexanco. 

Born on February 26, 2002, in Esplugues de Llobregat, Spain, Martín joined Barça Atlètic in the summer of 2023. Under coach Rafa Márquez, he made significant contributions in 41 domestic fixtures. His performances earned him frequent call-ups to the senior team, where he made his competitive debut in the opening game of the league season away to Valencia on August 17, 2024. 

Since his debut, Martín has featured in multiple La Liga matches, as well as Champions League, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup fixtures, contributing to the team's success in these competitions.
