World No. 1 Jannik Sinner successfully defended his Australian Open title, defeating Alexander Zverev in straight sets, 6–3, 7–6(4), 6–3, in the men's singles final on January 26, 2025.

This victory marks Sinner's third Grand Slam title, having previously secured the Australian Open and U.S. Open in 2024.

At 23 years old, Sinner becomes the youngest man to defend the Australian Open title since Jim Courier in 1993. He is also the youngest to defend his first major title since Rafael Nadal at the 2006 French Open.

Sinner's path to the final included victories over Nicolas Jarry, Tristan Schoolkate, Marcos Giron, Holger Rune, Alex de Minaur, and Ben Shelton.

In the final, Sinner's consistent performance and mental fortitude were evident. He secured the first set with a break of serve and maintained his composure in the second set tiebreak, ultimately closing out the match in the third set.

Following the match, Sinner displayed sportsmanship by consoling an emotional Zverev, who has yet to secure a Grand Slam title despite multiple final appearances.

This victory solidifies Sinner's position at the pinnacle of men's tennis, and he now sets his sights on upcoming tournaments, including the Rotterdam Open, French Open, and Wimbledon, aiming to further expand his major titles collection.
