The Premier League match between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield is scheduled to proceed as planned this afternoon. This decision follows two safety assessments conducted earlier today to evaluate the impact of overnight snowfall on the city.

Liverpool City Council's Safety Advisory Group convened with Merseyside Police and other relevant authorities at 9:00 AM to discuss the feasibility of the fixture. A subsequent meeting took place at midday, considering the anticipated change in weather conditions, with snow expected to transition into rain. These evaluations confirmed that the match could safely proceed.

In a statement, Liverpool FC confirmed:

"Today's fixture against Manchester United will go ahead as planned. Two safety meetings were held earlier to assess the weather and travel conditions. We thank everyone involved in helping us to get this game on today. If you're travelling to Anfield, please take extra care. We look forward to seeing you there."

The club has advised fans traveling to the stadium to exercise caution due to the prevailing weather conditions.
