Manchester City has officially announced the acquisition of 19-year-old defender Vitor Reis from Palmeiras. The Brazilian youth international has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract, securing his stay at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2029.

Reis, a central defender renowned for his composure on the ball and aerial prowess, made his senior debut for Palmeiras in June 2024. During his tenure, he amassed 22 appearances, contributing to the team's runner-up finish in the Brazilian Serie A. His impressive performances earned him a spot in the Troféu Mesa Redonda Team of the Year for 2024.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Reis stated, "I’m excited to join Manchester City, one of the biggest clubs in the world. Everyone has seen the amazing achievements in recent seasons, and I want to make my mark as we seek more trophies."

Manchester City's Director of Football, Txiki Begiristain, commented on the signing: "Vitor Reis is one of the most promising young defenders in the world, and we’re delighted to have been able to bring him here. He is excellent on the ball and outstanding in the air – he has all the attributes needed to be one of the best."

Reis will don the number 22 shirt for Manchester City. His arrival follows the recent signing of Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov, as the club aims to strengthen its defensive options for the remainder of the 2024/25 season and beyond.
