Manchester United is contemplating a strategic player exchange that would involve sending forward Marcus Rashford to Napoli in return for striker Victor Osimhen. 
Rashford, 27, has recently been omitted from United's lineup by head coach Ruben Amorim, notably absent since the 3-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest on December 7.
Despite receiving lucrative offers from Saudi Arabian clubs—reportedly up to £675,000 per week—Rashford has declined these opportunities, expressing a preference to continue his career in Europe with the aim of reclaiming his position in the England national team.
Napoli, under manager Antonio Conte, is currently second in Serie A and seeks to bolster its attacking options to secure the league title. The club has shown interest in acquiring Rashford, which could facilitate United's pursuit of Osimhen.
Osimhen, 26, is presently on loan at Galatasaray, where he has demonstrated impressive form with 12 goals and five assists in 15 appearances. He has a £62 million release clause in his contract. Prior to his loan, Osimhen scored 76 goals in 133 matches for Napoli, contributing significantly to their 2022/23 Serie A title victory.
Manchester United has struggled offensively this season, netting only 21 league goals. The potential acquisition of Osimhen is seen as a strategic move to enhance the team's attacking capabilities.
Should the swap proceed, Rashford would reunite with former United teammate Scott McTominay at Napoli.
