Manchester United has exercised the one-year extension clause in Harry Maguire's contract, securing his services until June 2026.
Manager Rúben Amorim emphasized Maguire's importance to the team, stating, "We will trigger our option; we need Harry a lot." Amorim also highlighted the need for Maguire to enhance his leadership on the field, noting, "He needs to improve as a leader because we are starving for leaders on the pitch."
Since joining Manchester United in August 2019, Maguire has made 222 appearances across all competitions, contributing 12 goals.
Looking ahead, Manchester United is set to face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, January 5, 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 16:30.
