Mikel Arteta recently shared positive news regarding Raheem Sterling's recovery from a knee injury sustained during training in late December 2024.
The Arsenal manager revealed that Sterling has begun light training on the pitch, marking a significant step forward in his rehabilitation. Arteta remarked, "He’s starting to do some stuff on the pitch, so that’s great news. We want him available as quickly as possible. Let’s see how he progresses next week and whether he can be ready for the following week."
Sterling, who joined Arsenal on loan from Chelsea at the beginning of the season, has contributed significantly to the team's attacking setup. He has made eight appearances so far, starting in four of those matches, though he has yet to open his goal account for the club. His absence over the past three games has been keenly felt.
Arsenal will travel to the American Express Community Stadium to face Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, January 4, 2025. The Gunners, currently chasing Premier League leaders Liverpool, aim to narrow the six-point gap at the top of the table. However, Sterling remains unavailable for this fixture as his recovery continues.
In his absence, Arteta will rely on other attacking players to maintain momentum and secure a vital win in the title race. Sterling’s potential return in the coming weeks is eagerly anticipated by both the manager and Arsenal fans.
