Arteta acknowledged that White remains several weeks away from returning to action but expressed optimism about his progress.
"Ben is still a few weeks away," Arteta shared. "There’s a possibility he could be back before the end of January, but he hasn’t yet trained with the team. His knee looks good, and he’s responded well to the initial stages of recovery. Everything is progressing smoothly so far."
Arteta further explained that the next phase of White's rehabilitation involves increasing his workload. "We now need to introduce more intensity, which means Ben has to go through additional steps he hasn’t tackled yet. Hopefully, it all continues positively," he stated.
Highlighting White’s professionalism, Arteta praised, "His work ethic is exceptional, and he’s naturally talented. I’m optimistic about having him back relatively early, though it’s hard to pinpoint an exact timeline."
In the meantime, Arsenal will face Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend in the Premier League. The Gunners are chasing league leaders Liverpool, who currently hold a six-point advantage. With other players, including Bukayo Saka and Takehiro Tomiyasu, also sidelined, Arteta will need to rely on squad depth to maintain their title push.
