Fenerbahçe's manager, José Mourinho, played a pivotal role in securing Škriniar's commitment, reportedly persuading him to choose Fenerbahçe over rival offers, including interest from Galatasaray and Tottenham Hotspur.
Škriniar, 29, began his professional career with MŠK Žilina in Slovakia before moving to Italy's Sampdoria in 2016. He later joined Inter Milan in 2017, where he became a key figure in their defense. In July 2023, he signed a five-year contract with PSG.
