TSG Hoffenheim and Olympique Lyonnais have reached an agreement for the transfer of Nigerian striker Gift Orban.
The 22-year-old is set to join the Bundesliga club, with Lyon granting the green light for the move.
Orban, who transferred to Lyon from KAA Gent in January 2024 for a fee potentially rising to €20 million, has found consistent playing time challenging. He made 16 appearances for Lyon, scoring three goals. The arrival of forwards like Georges Mikautadze further limited his opportunities, prompting the club to consider his departure.
Hoffenheim has reportedly offered €10 million for Orban, positioning themselves ahead of competitors such as RC Lens, who had an €8 million bid rejected by Lyon. The German club has also reached personal terms with Orban, indicating that the transfer is nearing completion.
