
Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate, recently visited former military president General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida at his residence in Minna, Niger State.
Obi shared details of the meeting on his social media platform, X, stating that the visit was an opportunity to extend New Year greetings and engage in discussions on national matters.
"From Jigawa state, I travelled to Minna, Niger State to pay a visit to a father figure, elder statesman and leader, the former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, at his residence in Minna, Niger State," Obi wrote. He further expressed appreciation for Babangida's wisdom and perspectives, noting their importance and his gratitude for the opportunity to receive invaluable advice and words of wisdom.
General Babangida, who served as Nigeria's military president from 1985 to 1993, remains an influential figure in the nation's political landscape. Obi's visit underscores his commitment to engaging with key stakeholders across the country.
