Arsenal Crash Out of Carabao Cup After 2-0 Defeat to Newcastle

Arsenal's aspirations for the Carabao Cup were dashed today as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United at St. James' Park, culminating in a 4-0 aggregate loss in the semi-finals. 

The Magpies took the lead in the 19th minute when Jacob Murphy capitalized on a rebound after Alexander Isak's initial effort struck the woodwork. Anthony Gordon extended the advantage in the 52nd minute, seizing upon a defensive lapse to secure Newcastle's place in the final. 

Arsenal, having been defeated 2-0 in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium, faced an uphill battle and were unable to overturn the deficit. Their challenges were compounded by an injury to Gabriel Martinelli, who exited the match with a hamstring issue before halftime. 

This result eliminates Arsenal from the competition, while Newcastle advances to the final, where they will meet either Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur. The Gunners will now need to refocus their efforts on their Premier League campaign.
