Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an update on Bukayo Saka’s recovery, stating that the winger is still in the early stages of his rehabilitation following hamstring surgery. Arteta emphasized the need for patience in his recovery process.
Speaking about Saka’s progress, Arteta said: “It’s too early. He’s in a very early stage of the rehab. When he starts to get a little bit closer and starts to do more demanding stuff in terms of the load, we will see where he is.”

Saka sustained the injury during a Premier League match against Crystal Palace in December, leading to surgery and an expected absence of over two months. Arteta has encouraged the England international to take time off to aid his recovery, suggesting that a brief holiday could be beneficial.

In Saka’s absence, Arsenal has faced challenges in their attacking lineup, with other key players such as Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli also sidelined due to injuries. Arteta has acknowledged the adversity, viewing it as a test to see “what the team is made of” and praising the squad’s resilience during this period.

Arsenal is set to face Leicester City this weekend in a Premier League fixture at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, February 15, with kick-off at 1:30 PM GMT. The team remains without Saka, Kai Havertz, who is out for the season with a hamstring tear, Gabriel Jesus, sidelined due to an ACL rupture, and Gabriel Martinelli, also recovering from a hamstring issue. However, there is positive news regarding Ben White, who is nearing a return from his knee injury and may be available for selection against Leicester.

Leicester City, currently battling relegation, will be hoping to secure valuable points. Their chances are boosted by the potential return of key players, including Jamie Vardy, Jannik Vestergaard, and Victor Kristiansen. The match presents an opportunity for Arsenal to strengthen their position in the league while Leicester fights to climb out of the relegation zone.
