Arteta's Defiant Stand: "Over My Dead Body" Will Arsenal Concede Title Race

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has emphatically dismissed any notion of conceding the Premier League title race, despite his team trailing leaders Liverpool by 11 points. In a resolute statement ahead of Arsenal's upcoming match against third-placed Nottingham Forest, Arteta declared, "Over my dead body," when questioned about giving up on the title pursuit. 

The Gunners' recent 1-0 defeat to West Ham United has intensified the challenge, yet Arteta remains steadfast in his belief that the championship is still within reach. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a fighting spirit, stating, "If I think that way, I'll go home. Mathematically, it's possible. You are there. You have to play every game." 

Arsenal's campaign has been marred by significant injuries to key players, including forwards Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli. These setbacks have tested the squad's depth and resilience. Additionally, disciplinary issues have plagued the team, with five red cards this season leading to extended periods of play with a reduced lineup. Arteta highlighted the team's perseverance, noting that despite these challenges, Arsenal has remained competitive: "If somebody tells you at the start of the season... you have played five times with a red card... and you have lost this amount of players... you're in the middle of the table at least." 

Looking ahead, Arsenal faces a crucial fixture against Nottingham Forest, a team that has demonstrated formidable form this season. Arteta praised Forest's achievements under manager Nuno Espírito Santo, describing their performance as "remarkable."
