Bayern Edge Celtic in Champions League Thriller – Kane and Olise Shine in 2-1 Victory!

Bayern Munich secured a 2-1 victory over Celtic in the first leg of their Champions League playoff on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. The match took place at Celtic Park in Glasgow.

Michael Olise opened the scoring for Bayern just before halftime with a remarkable left-footed strike. Shortly after the break, Harry Kane extended the lead by volleying in a Joshua Kimmich corner. Celtic's Daizen Maeda reduced the deficit in the 79th minute with a close-range header, but Bayern maintained their advantage to the final whistle. 

Despite Bayern's dominance in possession, Celtic's disciplined defense posed significant challenges. The Scottish champions applied considerable pressure in the latter stages, but Bayern's goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, made crucial saves to preserve the win. 

Bayern's head coach, Vincent Kompany, acknowledged the significance of the victory, stating, "The [Celtic] fans haven’t seen many losses here, especially in Europe, so we appreciate the importance of the game and the victory." 

The second leg is scheduled for Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at the Allianz Arena in Munich, where both teams will vie for a place in the next round.
