How I Met My Late Husband: Mohbad's Widow, Omawunmi, Shares Heartfelt Story of Their Early Relationship

Omowunmi Aloba, widow of the late Nigerian musician Mohbad, recently shared the story of how they met during an interview on TVC's "Your View." 

She revealed that they connected on the social media platform 2Go when she was 13 and he was 15. Both were involved in music—she as a rapper and he as a singer—and their initial friendship eventually blossomed into a romantic relationship. They later married and had a child together. 

In the interview, Omowunmi reflected on their early days, stating, "We started as friends. We were very young then. He was 15. He proposed relationship to me and I accepted." She also discussed the challenges they faced, including family disputes, and expressed her desire for privacy regarding personal matters. 

Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, tragically passed away on September 12, 2023. His death has been surrounded by controversy, leading to an autopsy to determine the cause. The results are still pending, and his father, Joseph Aloba, has stated that the body will only be reburied after the autopsy results are released and a DNA test is conducted on his grandson, Liam, to confirm his paternity.
