Following Real Madrid's decisive 3-1 victory over Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabéu, which secured their advancement to the Champions League round of 16, Kylian Mbappé expressed his preference for their next opponent.
When asked whether he would rather face Bayer Leverkusen or Atlético Madrid, Mbappé stated: "Honestly, I would rather we are drawn against Atlético. They are two great clubs and it would be difficult either way. But in the next round, it would be much better for us if we don't have to travel."
Mbappé's hat-trick was instrumental in Real Madrid's triumph over Manchester City, bringing the aggregate score to 6-3 in favor of Los Blancos. Reflecting on the match, he described it as a "perfect night" and emphasized the team's strength at home, stating, "It's only logical that Real Madrid advance to the last 16 of the Champions League. We are very strong at home and it's great to give joy to our fans."
Real Madrid's manager, Carlo Ancelotti, lauded Mbappé's performance and potential, suggesting that the French forward has the capability to reach the same level as club legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
As Real Madrid awaits the draw for the next round, Mbappé's preference to face Atlético Madrid highlights his consideration for minimizing travel and maintaining optimal team performance.
