Robin van Persie has been officially appointed as the head coach of Feyenoord, with a contract extending until June 2027. Joining him as assistant coach is Rene Hake, who previously served under Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.
Van Persie, a former striker renowned for his time at Arsenal and Manchester United, began his coaching career at Feyenoord in 2020 as an assistant to Dick Advocaat. He later advanced to co-head coach roles for the club's under-16, under-18, and under-19 teams. In May 2024, he accepted the head coach position at SC Heerenveen.

During his tenure at Heerenveen, Van Persie faced challenges, including a significant 9-1 defeat to AZ Alkmaar in September 2024. Despite these setbacks, his return to Feyenoord as head coach marks a significant milestone in his managerial career.

Feyenoord currently stands fourth in the Eredivisie, trailing leaders Ajax by 14 points. The club is poised to face either Arsenal or Inter Milan in the upcoming Champions League last 16 draw, presenting a potential reunion between Van Persie and his former club.
