Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has confirmed that winger Noni Madueke will be sidelined until after the upcoming international break due to an injury sustained against Brighton & Hove Albion. This means Madueke will miss the forthcoming Premier League fixture against Aston Villa. Maresca expressed optimism that most, if not all, injured players could return post-international break, providing a significant boost to the squad.

In addition to Madueke, Chelsea will be without Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana, Romeo Lavia, Marc Guiu, and Nicolas Jackson for the trip to Villa Park, as they continue their respective recoveries. Despite these challenges, the Blues are currently sixth in the Premier League standings, just one point behind fourth-placed Manchester City and level on points with fifth-placed Bournemouth.

Maresca acknowledged the strength of Aston Villa under manager Unai Emery, noting their impressive performances both domestically and in European competitions. He anticipates a challenging match, highlighting Villa's clear tactical approach and Emery's managerial prowess.

The upcoming international break is expected to be a pivotal period for Chelsea, allowing key players time to recover and rejoin the squad, which could enhance the team's prospects in the latter part of the season.
