Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina have reaffirmed their commitment to securing a World Cup spot for Nigeria despite the challenges the team has faced in the qualification campaign.

Both players expressed confidence in the Super Eagles' ability to make it to the tournament, with Iwobi sharing an optimistic message on social media, stating, “vibes can't done!! We will make the World Cup in the mighty name of Jesus.”

Aina also emphasized the determination within the squad, stating, “we will make this WC chill”
During this international break, Nigeria played two crucial World Cup qualifying matches. On March 21, 2025, they defeated Rwanda 2-0 with Victor Osimhen scoring both goals. However, just a few days later, on March 25, 2025, Nigeria was held to a 1-1 draw by Zimbabwe in Uyo, with Osimhen opening the scoring before Zimbabwe’s Tawanda Chirewa equalized late in the match. These results have left Nigeria in fourth place in Group C, with four points behind leaders South Africa.

Despite the setbacks, Iwobi and Aina remain resolute in their pursuit of qualification. The two players, who have been vital to Nigeria's efforts, continue to inspire their teammates with their leadership and commitment both on and off the pitch. Their camaraderie, recently highlighted when they humorously documented sharing a double bed during international duty, reinforces the team’s unity.

With crucial fixtures ahead, including matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, the Super Eagles are determined to overcome the challenges in their quest to secure a place in the World Cup.
