Mathias Pogba, the elder brother of former Juventus star Paul Pogba, has made a remarkable return to football after serving part of his prison sentence. The 34-year-old forward played a crucial role for SKN Sint-Niklaas in Belgium, scoring twice in a thrilling 4-3 derby victory. His goals, netted in the 82nd and 90th minutes, secured the win for his team.
In December 2024, Mathias was sentenced to three years in prison, with two years suspended, for his involvement in an attempted extortion case against his younger brother, Paul Pogba. Having already spent time in detention, he was allowed to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest with electronic monitoring.
Over his career, Mathias has played for various clubs across Europe, including Pescara in Italy, Wrexham in Wales, and Murcia in Spain. His recent performance with SKN Sint-Niklaas marks a determined step toward rebuilding his football career.
Meanwhile, Paul Pogba is working on regaining his fitness as he prepares to return to football following an 18-month doping ban.
