Emi Martínez Entertains Fans By Ball Jogging During Argentina’s Historic Win Over Brazil

Emiliano Martínez entertained fans in a commanding 4-1 World Cup qualifying win for Argentina over Brazil, with the goalkeeper amusing the crowd by jogging the ball and performing keepy-ups during the match's later stages.

The game, held at Buenos Aires' Estadio Monumental on March 25, 2025, saw Argentina continue their dominant qualifying run. Argentina opened the scoring early with Julián Álvarez finding the back of the net in the 4th minute. 

Enzo Fernández doubled the lead just eight minutes later, before Brazil pulled one back through Matheus Cunha in the 26th minute. However, Argentina responded with a third goal in the 37th minute from Alexis Mac Allister and sealed the victory with Giuliano Simeone's strike in the 71st minute.

Despite Brazil's attempts to claw back into the game, Argentina remained in control. Martínez's lighthearted antics, such as jogging with the ball and performing tricks in his own penalty area, highlighted his confidence as well as the team's strong performance. 

This win not only secured Argentina's qualification for the 2026 World Cup but also extended their lead in the South American qualifiers with 31 points. Brazil, meanwhile, remains in fourth place with 21 points.

With the victory, Argentina reaffirmed their position as reigning World Cup champions, while Brazil will need to regroup in the upcoming matches.
