Endrick, the 18-year-old Brazilian forward, played a pivotal role in preventing teammate Raphinha from escalating tensions during Brazil's World Cup qualifier against Argentina on March 25, 2025. With the match intensifying, Raphinha was involved in a confrontation with Argentina's Nicolás Otamendi after a heavy tackle. As the situation threatened to spiral, Endrick intervened, holding Raphinha back to prevent him from being sent off.
The match itself ended in a 4-1 victory for Argentina at the Mas Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires. Julian Alvarez opened the scoring for Argentina early on, finding the net just three minutes into the game. Enzo Fernandez doubled Argentina’s lead soon after, while Brazil responded with a goal from Matheus Cunha in the 26th minute, narrowing the score to 2-1.

However, Argentina regained control with Alexis Mac Allister scoring in the 37th minute to extend their lead. Giuliano Simeone, son of Diego Simeone, sealed the victory with Argentina's fourth goal later in the match.

Despite Brazil’s defeat, Endrick’s actions were seen as an important moment of restraint, helping avoid further disciplinary issues for his team. Argentina’s dominant performance ensured they remain at the top of the World Cup qualifiers, with four matches left to play, securing their spot for the 2026 World Cup.
