The tournament will include top clubs from various continents, including:
Africa: Al Ahly, Wydad AC, Espérance de Tunis, and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Asia: Al Hilal, Ulsan Hyundai, Al Ain, and Inter Miami CF (representing the host nation).
Europe: Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, FC Porto, SL Benfica, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Atlético Madrid, and Red Bull Salzburg.
North America: Monterrey, Seattle Sounders FC, Pachuca, and one additional team to be confirmed.
South America: Palmeiras, Flamengo, Fluminense, River Plate, Boca Juniors, and Botafogo.
Oceania: Auckland City.
The prize distribution will be as follows: approximately $500 million will be allocated based on sporting and commercial performance, with the highest-earning teams receiving more significant shares. Another $475 million will be distributed based on teams’ performance throughout the tournament, with the winner able to earn up to $125 million.
To maximize their earnings, teams can earn up to $68 million by securing victories in all group-stage matches and an additional $31 million for winning the final. The remaining $407 million will be distributed among the 32 participating clubs as entrance fees, with higher amounts going to European teams.
The tournament will commence on June 14, with matches scheduled in various U.S. cities. The final will take place on July 13 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
