Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an update on defender Riccardo Calafiori's condition following an injury sustained during international duty.
Arteta stated, "Calafiori unfortunately picked up an injury with the national team." He further commented, "Unfortunate but lucky it wasn’t much worse. Hopefully a matter of weeks."
Calafiori's injury occurred during Italy's 3-1 victory over France, where he collided with French forward Ousmane Dembélé.
The incident led to Calafiori receiving medical attention on the field before being substituted. Subsequently, he withdrew from international duty to return to Arsenal for assessment by the club's medical staff.
Arteta will be hoping for a swift recovery for Calafiori to bolster the team's defensive options in the coming weeks.
