Joana Sanz Announces Pregnancy Days After Her Husband Dani Alves’ Acquittal

Joana Sanz, the Spanish model and wife of former Barcelona footballer Dani Alves, has announced her pregnancy just days after Alves was acquitted of sexual assault charges.

In an emotional Instagram post, Sanz shared the challenges she faced on her journey to motherhood, including two unsuccessful in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments, three miscarriages, a fallopian tube surgery, and a diagnosis of endometriosis. She expressed her disbelief and joy, stating, "I still can't believe it."

She reflected on the societal pressures regarding motherhood and the personal fears she had to overcome, such as concerns about dependency and losing her identity as a woman.

The couple, who married in 2017, has endured significant hardships, including the loss of Sanz's mother two years ago and Alves's legal battles. Sanz credits her late mother for sending her this "gift" to alleviate her feelings of loneliness.

This will be Sanz's first child and Alves's third, as he has two children from a previous marriage.
