Matheus Cunha Sent Off for Violent Conduct in FA Cup Clash Against Bournemouth

Matheus Cunha, the Wolverhampton Wanderers striker, was sent off in the final minute of extra time during an FA Cup fifth-round match against AFC Bournemouth. The incident began when Milos Kerkez pulled Cunha's shirt, leading to a heated exchange. Cunha retaliated by pushing, kicking, and headbutting Kerkez, actions that prompted the referee to issue a straight red card. The Wolves coaching staff had to intervene to restrain Cunha as he lost control of his actions.

Despite Cunha's earlier contribution of a stunning 35-yard equalizer, his dismissal left Wolves at a numerical disadvantage. The match proceeded to a penalty shootout, where Bournemouth emerged victorious with a 5-4 scoreline, securing their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
This incident adds to Cunha's disciplinary issues this season. Two months prior, he received a two-match ban and an £80,000 fine after an altercation with a security guard following a defeat by Ipswich Town. The incident, captured on video, showed Cunha elbowing the guard and removing his glasses.
The recent red card is expected to result in a significant suspension for Cunha, further impacting Wolves' attacking options in their upcoming fixtures.
