Super Eagles Captain Takes Responsibility for Disappointing Draw Against Zimbabwe

William Troost-Ekong, the captain of the Super Eagles, has issued an apology to Nigerian fans following their disappointing 1-1 draw against Zimbabwe on March 25, 2025, in Uyo. The result came as a setback for Nigeria in their World Cup qualifying campaign.
Victor Osimhen gave Nigeria the lead in the 74th minute with a header, but Zimbabwe equalized in injury time through Tawanda Chirewa, preventing the Super Eagles from securing a vital victory.

Troost-Ekong expressed his commitment to the team's goal, taking to Twitter with a message: "Responsibility taken. Same target ahead. We will do it together! 🇳🇬."

This draw leaves Nigeria trailing South Africa by six points in Group C, with only four games remaining. The Super Eagles must now focus on winning their upcoming fixtures to keep their World Cup hopes alive.
