Patrick Dorgu, the Manchester United defender, has officially updated his name on the club's website and team sheets, incorporating his full name, Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu. This change is a tribute to his Nigerian heritage and religious beliefs.
Dorgu, born on October 26, 2004, in Copenhagen, Denmark, joined Manchester United in February 2025 from Italian club Lecce for a reported fee of €30 million, which could rise to €35 million with performance-related bonuses. The 20-year-old signed a contract that will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2030, with an option for an additional year.

Known for his pace and versatility, Dorgu primarily plays as a left wing-back but has also demonstrated his ability to excel in various other positions. Before his move to Manchester United, he made 57 appearances for Lecce, scoring five goals since making his professional debut in August 2023.

Internationally, Dorgu represents Denmark, having earned his first senior cap in September 2024.
