England manager Thomas Tuchel has clarified Ben White's absence from the national team squad, emphasizing that the Arsenal defender remains committed to representing his country. "Ben White didn’t refuse the call; he loves to be back in the squad," Tuchel stated during a press conference. "I just think it’s a bit too early now for him, given the seriousness of his injury. I’m delighted he’s back. We’re monitoring his progress. Thanks to everyone at Arsenal."

White, who has been recovering from knee surgery since November, recently returned to action for Arsenal. The 27-year-old made his first start in months during Arsenal's Champions League clash against PSV Eindhoven, following a series of substitute appearances in the Premier League. Tuchel praised the collaborative efforts between Arsenal and the Football Association in monitoring White's recovery, expressing optimism about his eventual return to the England setup.

England is set to face Albania and Latvia in their UEFA Nations League quarter-final matches this month, but White was not included in the squad due to his ongoing recovery. Tuchel remains confident that the versatile defender, who has earned four caps for England, will regain full fitness and rejoin the national team in the near future.
