Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has confirmed he is back to full fitness as the club prepares for their Champions League quarter-final clash against Arsenal.
"I feel good, at 100%," Courtois stated confidently. "Since the start of the season, I've had two muscle issues, but it wasn't anything serious—we just didn’t want to take any risks."
The Belgian international has endured a challenging season plagued by injuries. He suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in his left knee during training in August, ruling him out for several months. As he neared a return, a fresh setback came in March when he tore the meniscus in his right knee, once again during training, which required surgery and additional recovery time.
Despite these setbacks, Courtois made a successful return to the pitch in early May and has since rejoined the squad in their quest for LaLiga and Champions League glory.
His comeback is particularly timely, following an injury to backup goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, who sustained a calf muscle tear during the Copa del Rey semi-final against Real Sociedad. With Lunin sidelined, 19-year-old Fran Gonzalez could be called upon for the upcoming LaLiga fixture against Valencia.
