Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed uncertainty regarding Ben White's availability for the upcoming Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
White was absent from the squad in Arsenal's recent 1-1 Premier League draw with Brentford due to discomfort experienced during training.
Arteta addressed the situation, stating:
“We don’t know. He could not be in the condition to be in the squad [vs. Brentford] & be selected. We have a few days, but we’ll have to wait & see.”
The Gunners are also monitoring the fitness of Thomas Partey and Jorginho, both of whom were substituted during the Brentford match due to injury concerns. Partey was taken off after scoring Arsenal's goal, while Jorginho exited the game due to rib pain affecting his breathing. These potential absences add to Arsenal's injury challenges as they prepare for the crucial fixture at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Despite holding a 3-0 advantage from the first leg, Arteta emphasized the need for a strong performance in Madrid to secure progression to the semi-finals. The team aims to reach only the third Champions League semi-final in the club’s history.
