Marco Asensio apologized to fans after missing two penalties in Aston Villa's 3-0 victory over Southampton in the Premier League today. Both penalties were saved by Southampton's goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale, but Aston Villa still managed to secure a convincing win with goals from Ollie Watkins, Donyell Malen, and John McGinn.

The breakthrough came in the 73rd minute when Watkins scored, assisted by Yoeri Tielemans. Malen doubled the lead six minutes later, and McGinn sealed the victory in stoppage time, converting the rebound from Asensio's second missed penalty.

The win lifts Aston Villa to fifth place in the league standings, keeping their Champions League hopes alive.
