Barcelona Advance to Champions League Semi-Finals Despite 3-1 Loss to Borussia Dortmund in Second Leg Thriller

Barcelona experienced a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday night, yet managed to secure a place in the semi-finals thanks to their dominant 4-0 win in the first leg, which gave them a 5-3 aggregate advantage.

Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy was the standout performer, netting all three goals for the German side. His performance elevated him to the top of the Champions League scoring charts this season, with 13 goals in the competition.

Despite being outplayed in the return leg, Barcelona did find the net, albeit through an own goal. Ramy Bensebaini inadvertently turned the ball into his own net under pressure from Robert Lewandowski.

This loss marked Barcelona’s first defeat in 2025, bringing an end to their impressive 24-match unbeaten streak across all competitions.
