Bayer Leverkusen CEO Confirms Gentlemen's Agreement for Xabi Alonso's Exit
Fernando Carro, CEO of Bayer Leverkusen, has confirmed the existence of a gentlemen's agreement regarding the potential departure of head coach Xabi Alonso.
Carro stated, “We have a gentlemen's agreement with Xabi Alonso for his exit. If a team in which Xabi Alonso has played comes, we would sit down to talk and we would NOT prevent him”.
This revelation comes amidst speculation about Alonso's future, particularly with clubs like Real Madrid and Liverpool being linked to him.
Alonso's tenure at Bayer Leverkusen has been marked by remarkable success, including leading the team to a Bundesliga title and a DFB Pokal victory in 2024.
