Thiago Motta Expresses Discontent Over Lack of Time at Juventus and Denies Player Allegations

Former Juventus coach Thiago Motta has expressed his disappointment over the limited time he was given to implement his vision at the club. In an interview with Corriere della Sera, Motta stated, “Juventus didn’t give me enough time to develop my project,” highlighting his frustration over the early end to his tenure.

He also addressed speculation regarding his relationship with the squad, denying reports of internal conflict. “Saying that the players were against me, that’s something false and unacceptable,” he told Corriere, firmly dismissing claims that suggested he had lost the dressing room.

Motta’s departure followed a series of heavy defeats, including a 3-0 loss to Fiorentina and a 4-0 home thrashing by Atalanta, results which saw Juventus slip to fifth in the Serie A standings. In response, the club appointed former player Igor Tudor as his replacement, with expectations that Tudor would lead the team until the end of the season. A potential contract extension was reported to depend on whether the club secures Champions League qualification.

Despite Motta’s comments, reports emerged that at least one unnamed Juventus player had voiced discontent, allegedly stating, “I can't stand him, and I'm not the only one.” Still, Motta remains adamant that such allegations do not reflect the true situation within the team.

Before taking charge of Juventus, Motta had led Bologna to a Champions League finish, a testament to his coaching potential. His swift exit from Juventus underlines the pressure placed on managers in top-tier clubs to deliver immediate results.
