Inter Milan forward Marcus Thuram has sustained a muscle issue, with medical examinations revealing fatigue in the adductor muscles of his left thigh. The club confirmed the diagnosis following scans conducted at a medical facility in Rozzano. His condition will be reassessed on a daily basis, though he is expected to miss Inter's upcoming Serie A encounter against Bologna.
The timing of the injury is concerning for Inter Milan, who are entering a crucial period in their season. The Nerazzurri are set to face AC Milan in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final on April 23, followed by a UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg clash against Barcelona on April 30.
Thuram has played a key role in Inter’s campaign so far, contributing significantly with 17 goals and nine assists across all competitions. His absence could prove to be a major setback as the club pushes for silverware on multiple fronts.
In his absence, manager Simone Inzaghi is likely to call upon Marko Arnautovic to join Lautaro MartÃnez in attack. Inter are also contending with other injury concerns, including midfielder Piotr Zielinski, who is dealing with a calf problem, and defender Denzel Dumfries, who is recovering from a recent setback.
With a demanding fixture list ahead and as many as 11 matches remaining, Thuram’s swift recovery will be vital to Inter’s ambitions both domestically and in Europe.
