Arteta Confirms Calafiori Will Miss Ipswich Clash, Hints at Possible Return Against PSG

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that defender Riccardo Calafiori will not be available for the upcoming Premier League fixture against Ipswich Town. Calafiori is recovering from a knee injury sustained during international duty with Italy in March.
Despite his absence from the Ipswich match, there is optimism regarding his return for the Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain.

"He won't be ready vs Ipswich," Arteta stated. "Back with PSG? If everything goes well, I think so, maybe a little bit earlier. He's on the pitch already, he's doing a lot of stuff. We need to make the right steps to make sure when he's back he's ok."

Calafiori's potential return would bolster Arsenal's defensive options as they prepare for a challenging European encounter. The Italian defender has made 26 appearances this season, contributing three goals and two assists.

In addition to Calafiori, midfielder Jorginho remains sidelined with a rib injury, and his availability for the PSG match is still uncertain. Arteta deferred to the medical team regarding Jorginho's recovery timeline.
